I.  General Forum Usage and Terms-of-Service

You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the staff or the owners of this forum to confirm the validity of posts. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the posted messages, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of this forum, its staff, its subsidiaries, or this forum's owner. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this forum immediately. The staff and the owner of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if they determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that they may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of this forum, any related websites to this forum, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of this forum also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another person's account for any reason.  We also HIGHLY recommend you use a complex and unique password for your account, to prevent account theft.

After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information the forum owner or staff determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice. Appropriate sanctions may be applicable.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from this forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.

Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer.

This page contains the Terms of Service, General Rules of Conduct and Appeals Procedure for these forums. It is important that you read through this page thoroughly, to prevent any potential rules violations.

2.   Terms of Service

2.1
By activating your user ID, you agree to abide by these Terms of Service and General Rules of Conduct in using all features of the PC Experts Forum, including message boards and the private message system. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action, which may include deactivation of your account and notification of your ISP (see Disciplinary Action).
2.2You may only register one User ID. Multiple IDs are not allowed.
2.3No impersonation of other users.
2.4
Never allow anybody to login using your account, much less post under your username.  If somebody wants to post in the Forum, he or she should register for a valid account.  If caught violating this rule, your account will be subject to disciplinary action.
2.5
No posting of material of vulgar, obscene, overly-violent, lewd or bigoted nature, or those which promote illegal activities, or other material inappropriate for general readership, whether as part of a thread, signature or avatar.  We mean it.
2.6
No derogatory comments against other posters, including slurs based on race, religion, gender, sexual preference, or political affiliation. No personal threats or harassment.
2.7
No commercial posts (buying, selling and/or trading) shall be made outside the Marketplace Section.  Posts in the Marketplace Section shall be further governed by that section's special set of Guidelines.
2.8No off-topic links to personal websites (spamming) without permission from the Webmaster.
2.9
The use of an image-based signature is allowed, provided it does not exceed the maximum size of 360 x 90 pixels.
2.10
For purely text signatures, the maximum number of lines you can use are either 8 lines if you are using the default font size (8pt) or 6 lines if you are using a 10pt font size.  This includes blank lines, or lines without text.
2.11
You may combine an image and text for your signature.  Note that for such a combo, you are allowed a maximum of 2 lines (including blank lines) of text in 8pt font size or 1 line of text in 10pt font size for text placed directly underneath or above the image you are combining it with.
2.12
Signatures, whether image-based, text-based or a combination of image and text that exceed the maximum allowed sizes will be subject to editing or removal by the moderator(s) or administrator(s) without prior notice.
2.13Avatars should not exceed the maximum size of 80 x 80 pixels.
2.14
Number of posts. There is no official number of posts that a person can leave in a day. However, excessive posting, especially those of the conversational kind (nothing but 'hello,' 'I agree,' 'uh-huh,' 'lol,' nothing but smilies and the like), is strongly discouraged. If a poster leaves numerous posts, particularly of the kind mentioned, too often he/she will be warned, then if it continues to be a problem they will be subject to disciplinary action. Moderators have the right to delete such posts without prior warning to the poster.
2.15
Moderators and administrators monitor your compliance with these rules and dispense disciplinary action at their discretion. Disciplinary decisions may be appealed through the Appeal Procedure. No unauthorized public posting of appeals.
